What are the different types of intellectual property?
Intellectual Property can be broken down into four main categories.
Trademarks protect your branding. Some of these things can be your logo, tagline, or anything that can be used to identify your company.
Copyrights protect your creations. If something is an original work of authorship and put into a "tangible form", such as a book, a copyright is able to protect your work.
Trade Secrets are confidential business information that provides you a competitive edge. You are able to get protections over this confidential information if you follow certain guidlines to establish that the information is being protected from the general public.
Patents are used to protect inventions.
